Illustrated by Timi Hayek, this dress invokes the spirit of the Ancient Phoenician Goddess Astarte, once known as the "Queen of the Heavens". Being the principal goddess of the Phoenicians at least 4,000 years ago, the deified morning and evening star or the “Queen of the Stars” was associated with the moon and called the Mother of the Universe, giver of all life on Earth. The deity later took on many names and forms among different cultures, such as Aphrodite/Venus in the Greco-Roman world. According to legend, Astarte descended to Earth as a fiery star, landing near Byblos in Afqa, Lebanon.
A short description of Astarte is written on the tag of the dress, presented in a beautiful white Timi Hayek box.
